    1. PLEASE HELP RESEARCHING SIXSMITH,SHARKEY,MOONEY,SPOONER
    2. June Spooner
    3. Hi Can anyone please answer these questions for me. First of all I would appreciate it if anyone can give me the site address of the National Archives Web Page. Also the site address of the Australian telephone directory I am also researching the names above and so far have Joseph Sixsmith, Annie Mooney, Percy Spooner, Jessie Spooner and Annie Sharkey. Percy arrived in Australia around the early 1900s and married Annie Mooney in 1913. They had a daughter Jessie in 1913, she married Joseph Sixsmith in 1935 and Percy married Annie Sharkey also in 1935. How can I find out when Percy arrived and what ship he was on. I do not have a date except that I know he was born in Nottingham around the 1857ish time and was certainly in Nottingham wearing a naval uniform in 1895. Frankly he disappeared from the family shortly after 1895 and was very rarely heard of after that. So of course I have no other knowledge of him and would appreciate finding out any information that anyone can give. Also how can I find out when he died I also need to know how to obtain the certificates of births and marriages. I only know that Jessie was born in Sydney in 1913 reg#39744 and that she married Joseph Sixsmith in St. Peters in 1935 #13781. Percy married in Newtown in 1913 to Agnes Mooney #4942 and later married Annie Sharkey in 1935 in Paddington #12879 How much are the certificates and where do I send to. Also who do I make out the draft to, or do they take visa. Thanks very much for all and any help Best wishes June.

    3. Hello Everyone I was wondering if some kind person could help me out. I have just obtained a marriage transcription for our ancestor Sydney Alfred Hearne. It says he was born in Brixton Surrey England and that his parents were Octavius Thomas Hearne and Eleanor Aley. He was born 1867 in Brixton Surrey England. However I cannot find a birth for him or any brothers and sisters either. I looked on Familysearch.org but no luck in finding any births or marriages for the parents. I would appreciate any help or assistance as to where I go from here. REgards Grahame

The LDS often breaks their own rules about retrospective baptism being only for direct ancestors of Church members. Among Jewish records that have received the honour of this divine assistance I can count the marriage of my own gr.gr.grandparents, and everyone else entered as married or born in a few London Synagogue registers, thousands of Jews listed in "Americans of Jewish Descent", and hundreds of thousands of German and other Jewish Holocaust victims extracted from the memorial lists of the "Gedenkbuch". After two years of agitation and negotiation the victims names were removed from the IGI lists, but un-baptism is a theological impossibility. On the same source film as the extracts from the American Jews book were a number of blanket baptisms of names taken from 13th century French tax records by the LDS Medieval Research Department. On this topic I got some of the most rabid and nastiest mail ever. I had stated why I did not like either my family or myself being baptized after death and the reasons were not religious. I was told I should be rateful[ which I am ] and that the baptisms and sealings were meaningless. I began to wonder what list I had joined.! It would be so interesting to really discuss this but not be attacked. I have always found the folk at the LDS helpful , polite and respectful of others. Many people pointed out that they were"" not Mormon but--------" I also do not need quotes from the scriptures. So John if you can keep some kind of decorum it would indeed be interesting. 3. Hi everyone, I am new to this list and I am trying to research the name of PERCIVAL 'PERCY' SPOONER b. approx., 1875 in the Edwin St., St. Ann's Well Road, Nottingham area. All I know is that he emigrated to Australia somewhere in the early 1900s. Rumour has it that he married twice and had a family. What area of Australia he went to no one knows and they also have no other information on either him or his family. If there are any descendants of Percy out there who have information on his Australian family and would like more info on his English Ancestory I have lots of it and would be very happy to exchange notes. Best wishes to you all June Spooner
