I will have to work on that. Please, when posting your interests, do not do it as a reply to this or the above message. But, please, if you are replying to someone elses' message, regarding what they have posted, leave their subject line intact, and, when you post your own query or statement of genealogical interest(s), create a new message, with a subject line applicable to your message. Just a quick note to advise that the list appears to now have been transferred from Peter to me, with me now being the new List Administrator. Hopefully, when this message goes through, the above footnote advising that the list is available for adoption, will have been removed. I will post again soon. In the meantime, please post your interests, and show Rootsweb that the list is still active, and, remind everyone on the list, what are your interests, and, what help you need in your research. The list has not been very active, for a couple of years, so it would be good to revive it. Remember, if you try to cook porridge, without stirring it every so often, it does not work very well, and, it gets kind of stuck to the bottom. If you reply to a digest entry, please replace the digest subject line, with the subject line of the entry to which you are responding, and, delete everything in the digest message that you receive, apart from the message to which you are replying. 1. [AUS] EMILY DUDLEY
    2. Peter STRAUSS
    3. I am trying to find anything out there about Emily Dudley, born Chippendale 07/06/1861, father George Dudley an emancipated convict [Coromandel 1820] and mother Mary Ann née Lynchey who had accompanied her convict mother, Sarah, to New South Wales in 1835 [Mary (3)]. Other than her birth certificate, and her mother’s death Certificate in October 1901 which notes Emily as living, being 39 years of age, I have found nothing among the NSW BDMs, on Ancestry, Family Search or on Trove. Several trees on Ancestry state that she married in Newcastle in 1902 however examination of the certificate shows that in that case the bride’s mother is not Mary Ann Lynchey, or Dudley; these online trees indicate a death in 1922 however this Death Certificate shows different, but still incorrect, parents’ names and an age nine years older than Emily. One of these trees previously showed Emily dying in Gujarat, India, since I requested details of this death that tree has been amended to match the several incorrect details referred to above. If anyone on the List knows of this lady I would be very pleased to hear any details. 3. Hello subscribers to the australia mailing list. All Rootsweb mailing lists have been nearly dead for the last two or so years. In February this year, Rootsweb upgraded the software that runs their 30,000 or so mailing lists, and after a few teething problems, the system is now up and running. The archives of past posts are gradually being restored, but this may take months. Subscribers may notice minor differences. The main difference for you is that you can register as a subscriber and then be able to adjust options for how you receive emails (e.g. single posts or digests in plain or MIME format, halt mail while on holidays and a few more things). Or you can leave things as they are. 1. [AUS] ISABELLA DUDLEY BORN 1857
    2. Peter STRAUSS
    3. I am trying to find anything out there about Isabella Dudley, born Chippendale 21/02/1857, father George Dudley an emancipated convict [Coromandel 1820] and Mary Ann née Lynchey who had accompanied her convict mother, Sarah, to New South Wales in 1835 [Mary (3)]. I have found nothing among the NSW BDMs, on Ancestry, Family Search or on Trove after her Birth Certificate. Several trees online state that she died either 1868 or C1868, none state any citation as to this event and all state Sydney as the place of death. Her mother’s Death Certificate in October 1901 states that of her [mother’s] children 5 males were deceased, as there were only 4 male children, all of whose Birth and Death Certificates I have it is quite possible either the informant, or more likely the clerk, was mistaken and that 1868 is the correct year, however I prefer to quote confirmed citations. If anyone on the List knows of this lady I would be very pleased to hear any details. 1. [AUS] THOMAS LYNCHEY
    2. Peter STRAUSS
    3. For almost 15 years I have been seeking information on THOMAS LYNCHEY a brother of my GG Grandmother. Thomas arrived as convict on the Mary Ann[e] in 1835 and would have completed his sentence in 1847. Thomas may have been born in County Down or on the Isle of Man and had been sentenced with his mother at Castle Rushen on the Isle of Man in 1832 His Ticket of Leave, granted in 1844 required him to stay in the area of Morton Bay but he was arrested in 1845 at Liverpool and sent to the Hyde Park barracks. There I lose track of him. He would have been about 24-25 years of age in 1845. He probably re-entered society by 1850. I have found no marriage or death either as Lynchey or Lynch. Does this name or origins ring any bells. Peter Melbourne --- This email has been checked for viruses by Avast antivirus software. https://www.avast.com/antivirus

I found this entry and although, because of the year of death, this cannot be your lady, there may be a family link.
