Dear Listers, I am very appreciative to those of you who have been kind enough to make suggestions and offer information re Mary Jane CLARK. It has helped to narrow the field a little, but unfortunately I am no nearer finding a solution. I'll just have to keep looking. Kind regards to all Noelle Oke Noelle Oke ALBURY NSW Australia [email protected]
Hi Listers, Have been asked by a contact in Scotland for a death date and a gravestone inscription, on the above person. Margaret Woolley left on a boat for Australia 1931. Margaret was born in Edinburgh 1865, and probably married a Tom Henderson either in Scotland or Australia. In 1931 she was living at 15 Kent St, Rockhampton.Date of death unknown, but possibly between 1931 and 1945. Val Riddell, Sunshine Coast.
Thank you to all those very kind listers who have passed on leads for Mary Jane CLARK. However her marriage and death certificates pose some tricky further questions. Firstly, I am aware of her marriage to William LOVE in 1868. MARRIAGE CERT. She was married in February 1868. It appears that as she was not yet 18 years of age, (perhaps she was born in 1851?) her step-father is stated as giving consent to the marriage. There are two marriage witnesses, John HATTON (or HUTTON) and Joshua DIBB, either of whom may have been the step-father. William LOVE was 45 and a stated widower (though I'm suspicious about that because of what I know of his background,) so there was a big age difference. DEATH CERT. She died in April 1918. Her age is given as 67 years. This gives more weight I suppose to a possible birth date in 1851. On her death certificate her father's surname is still given as CLARK but his first name is listed as John, but this could be a family mistake. Her mother's married name is still stated as Annie CLARK but her maiden name is given as BOLTON-POYNTON. In the family several children born to William and Mary Jane have BOLTON as one of their christian names, so it appears that it has some significance. Any further suggestions would be very welcome. My ggrandmother Louisa NEAL died in NSW 15.06.1910 Clarence, Blaxland Shire (Lithgow). If it's possible to access them would SKS in the area be kind enough to peruse the cemetery records (I realize there are a number of cemeteries) to help me find where she is buried please. I would be absolutely delighted to discover that her husband Thomas is buried in the same cemetery, of course, although but I have no idea when or where he died. Please be assured I would be exceedingly grateful for assistance. Thank you Jan Austin-Hart, Victoria --------------------------------- Yahoo! Personals - New people, new possibilities. Hello Julie, I am currently compiling a bibliography and index of published Australian family histories and genealogies, and decided to use your email as a live test case to try and see how many titles I have got listed for each of your names. Dear List Trying to trace daughters of Jean & Bill [I think] LUND. They had a small family garage & business at Darnum. Both died during the 1990's. Jean's maiden name could have been CHRICHTON or CRIGHTON, her mothers Christian name being Emily. I think one daughters name was Lynette. Hoping they may have some family photos to compare with mine. Annette

My great-grandfater Thomas Neal (a miner) and his wife Louisa (nee Williams) migrated from England and arrived in Brisbane on the Eastern Empire 14.09.1866 with sons Tom (8) and John (3yrs and born in Spain) another son George Henry was born in Qld 1866. They were in Bathurst NSW in 1869 when Emma was born, Hill End 1873 James born, Hartley 1874 Louisa born. Thomas was probably still alive in 1899 when both son George H, and daughter Louisa were married in Sydney. His wife Louisa died 1910 and informant was son Tom, so presumably Thomas died prior to this date, but I have no evidence. Nothing is definite about his movements past 1874. Could he have been mining interestate? If you have any information which could assist me I would be most grateful. Many thanks. Jan from Trafalgar, Victoria --------------------------------- Yahoo! I have learned there was a Family Bible for the Wearin's in the hands of Vera Wearin, daughter of John Thacker Wearin and Clara Twigg sometime in the 1980's. If anyone has any knowledge of this Bible, could they please get in touch with me. Thank you Diane
