Does anyone have any knowledge of this family, past or present? They originally came to Victoria and as far as I know, stayed there. The Dainty's who came to Australia in 1855 were Frederick and Eliza. They had 8 children and ended up at Faraday. Grateful for any information. Lyn
I am searching for an Axell family. I have nothing as far as names are concerned. He was a Swede who I understand went to Au in early 1900. He married twice and had children from both wives ? Believe his first wife died hence his 2d wife. ? His grand children served in WW II. He had 2? daughters who married. Don't believe he had any sons. Thanks for any help. Warren
Dear Listers, A big thank you to all those generous people who have provided such useful suggestions, information and references about my quandary. I am now able to place the location but am still not able to place the lady. However this is a recently opened lead and with some perseverance I'll continue to make progress. The breadth of knowledge and kind assistance willingly shared by other genealogists never ceases to amaze me. With much appreciation Noelle Oke Noelle Oke ALBURY NSW Australia [email protected]
Hi listers, Please can you help? I am tracing an OWEN born in NSW, and his parents were Thomas OWEN and Eileen nee HUGHES who were married in 1848 in North Wales. I guess he was illiterate and maybe someone could not understand his accent, but the place appears to be Abbeyfoyle - which apparently does not exist. Can anyone suggest what the place may have been so I can continue the hunt? Joan Blue Mountains NSW Scanned by PeNiCillin http://safe-t-net.pnc.com.au/
Hi Dellas Catherine Field forms a triangle with Camden and Campbelltown, (Catherine Field being the top of the triangle pointing north, Camden the western point and Campbelltown the eastern point.) It is where El Cabalo Blanco is (or was), that had those beautiful Spanish dancing horses. I had a cousin who once lived in Catherine Field. Just looked up my UBD Street directory and its in there. QE is the church code and is, I think, in the county of Durham. See the NSW BDM page, it has a link to the church code. Can anyone tell me where Wellingrove is please? Its abit to the north of the Glen Innes to Inverell road up in the New England area of NSW > > Also does QE district mean QLd, if so how come the marriage is in NSW BDM's reg. Or is there a QE in NSW, again if so where?? If you are going to do research there are some basic dates that are useful to know e.g Civil registration of BDMs in NSW date from 1856. Records before that have a V and a 1845 prefix........ V1850 followed by 2 other numbers being a page and vloume # and to initials ........Church codes . QE would not mean Qld . These church codes were stuck up on the wall in the gene section of Tuggarah Library. Are on the NSW BDM registries web site also and on http://users.bigpond.net.au/convicts And a few other web sites and in a booklet in libraries that have the NSW Pioneers records Bye MargM Member of Central Coast FHS Gosford, NSW

Hello to the listers. I am trying to find Susan Buckley or someone from that family. Susan had her early family arriving from Ireland in 1863, I have e-mailed her twice without an answer from her so maybe she is not home. I got her e-mail from The first Family Site. Could someone from this family get in touch with me. Thanks. Margaret Jordan Melbourne
