    2. Hazel Magann
    3. Hello I do hope that I am still a member of the mailing list as I haven't used it for a long time. I am compiling history for a databse on "The Blacktown Shire WW2 Patriotic Fund" and keep coming up with abreviations of their "Rank" and other things on records. I have made enquiries to some Military Archives to no avail so am hoping SKS will be able to help me. Today I am writing a biography for the displays on 24 & 25 April and have come across the following. Herbert John Dodd joined the Royal Australian Navy in 1921 for the first time. On re-enlisting their is an abreviation beside the date of enlistment "R.A.F.R." if anyone can explain these letters I would appreciate the help. His Rank of discharge is also abreviated and is "CH STO" again help is really needed as I have nearly 1,300 names and information entered onto the database and some are very abreviated. If anyone has a connection to Herbert John Dodd of Blacktown who was born in Devon 1892 and died in 1953 and is buried at St. Bartholomew's Cemetery, Prospect NSW. I would love to hear from them. If anyone has someone who fought during WW2 and may have received a comfort box and lived within the Blacktown Shire I would appreciate hearing from them. Regards Hazel

    2. Hi there. I am brand new to Australian genealogy. I have found that my grandmother's brother, David Coutts, moved to Adelaide in the late 1880s. He married alma. David was born in Aberdeenshire, Scotland in 1863, I belive that David and Alma had 2 children, Donald and Norah. I would appreciate any advise as to how to reaearch this family and which mailing lists I should be using. There is a chance that Donald Coutts is still alive. Where would I find out if there is a listing for him? Many thanks Elizabeth Canada
