Hello, all, My ancestor, Joel HOWERTON, served as a Private in Capt. William W. Old's Company of Infantry, Lt. Col. William AUSTIN's Regiment of South Carolina Militia from 4 Feb to 18 Mar 1815 during the War of 1812. Joel lived in Edgefield Co., but I have no information on where he enlisted. Does anyone have any information on Lt. Col. Wm. AUSTIN's service in this war? Thanks! Pam [email protected]
