He was buried under a walnut tree in the yard of the homeplace, near the corner of Burkitt Rd. and Old HIckory Blvd., Tennessee. He married Elizabeth Leona "Betsy" PEAY on 5 Jan 1843. Elizabeth was born in 1825, died on 15 Sep 1922.
