Did your ASTON family come through N. AL (Morgan, Madison, Lawrence, Winston Co.) on their way to Marion Co, AL ? I am wondering if there could be any connection to my John C. AUSTIN who was on the 1860, 1870 Morgan Co Census, and the 1880 Winston Co Census and the 1900 Lawrence Co, Census of AL. His parents were b SC. There were some different spellings of the name in these counties: ASTON, AUSTON, AUSTIN, ASTIN, OSTEN. There was a James AUSTIN/AUSTON b SC who was the brother of the SC Rev War Soldier Alexander AUSTIN/AUSTON who lived and died in Hillsboro, Lawrence Co, AL.
