Listed in the 1880 Michigan Federal census as Jason Z. BRAINARD, living in Hamlin Township, Eaton Co., MI. b. 1835 in Durham NY. m. Polly Parker in 1853. Children of Zachariah (Jason) and Polly Parker: Zina -b. 1855 m. Ida Mae AUSTIN Charles -b.1859, moved to Arkansas Mary- b. 1862 Cora-b. 1864 Jay - b.1866 later institutionalized in Traverse City In the 1880 census Zachariah (Jason) age 45 has a new wife listed only as Jennie age 31, also born in NY. They have a son, whose name appeaers to be Burton 1 1/2 years old. I am trying to find out where Zachariah is buried and if decsendants of Cora, Mary or Burton are researching. Also more on Ida Mae AUSTIN Zachariah is said to have run a lumber mill in the HARBOR SPRINGS area when his son Zina and Ida Mae lived in PETOSKY, EMMET Co., from at least 1890-93 where at least three of their children were born.
