I am just beginning my search for info on this side of the family. I have no idea who the parents were, where they originated, etc. ANY info would be greatly appreciated! The info I have is as follows: John Hilliard AUSTIN - b. 7/16/1870 (GA?) d 6/8/1939 m. Lizzie WHITE - Atlanta?, (Fulton, Henry or DeKalb Co.) Unknown if there were other children but had at least one daughter, Myrtice Harris AUSTIN, b. 8/16/1897 Atlanta, d 9/1/1924 Atlanta m. Arthur O. HAYES, Sr. Not sure if Myrtice was married previously or was adopted or what....On my father's birth certificate where it indicates 'maiden name', HARRIS is indicated. On other papers, her name is listed as Myrtice HARRIS AUSTIN so the HARRIS could be a middle name(?). John H AUSTIN had a brother named Horace M AUSTIN - b 3/29/1895. d 5/6/1954. Both John and Horace worked for Southern Railway in Atlanta. Myrtice AUSTIN and Arthur O. HAYES had one son, Arthur O HAYES, Jr. in Atlanta.
