Now you mention that Archibald Pruit Austin b. 1767, brother to my Stephen Austin b. 1769 married a Rebecca Thompson...marriage record in Pittsylvania Co., VA lists her name a Blankinship ...can you give documented proof to show this is her name of Thompson and not Blankinship? have been asking folks to show us proof on this for sometime...Wm. Thompson and Rachel Coleman did have a dau. Rebecca Thompson but I just found it recently in a compilation and when I looked at the dates it didn't seem to match up with Rebecca Blankinship's...so am in question here on this line?? Margaret in CA in 1990's stated she felt her name was Rebecca Thompson and sent me info on this line of Thompsons...I know a Blackman Coleman was later in Rutherford Co., TN and owned land there then to Bedford Co., TN...so wondering if we are on right track with the Thompson surname...been working n Austin clan since 1975!!!
