Hi, I am looking for Thomas Austin who appeared on the 1860 census oSt. Helena Parish, La. Listed HH 165 Thos Austin 25 m La no occupation listed Masscella Austin 21 f La. Kansada 5/12 La. It appears that he married Arcilly Morgan on May 20, 1859 in St. Helena Parish, La. I do not know about the difference in wife's name! He also served in the Civil War, Confederate as a Pvt. enrolled at Camp Monroe, La April 10, 1862. He also had a daughter named Jane . Her mother married a second time to a Richard Mathews. Jane Austin married J.A. Cothren, they and died in Franklin Co. Ms. If anyone can help me, it would help me prove he is part of my family or not. Thanks Carolyn Austin
