WOW! What an email. I couldn't tell who said what, but I was copied and will comply gladly. Just glad there's some interest in this Austin branch. I know that I was taking the Austin newsletter back in the 1980's, then I gave up and dropped out of the Austin Assoc. because of various reasons. It was there that I knew of Dr. Michael Austin. I still have my newsletters...long before the beautiful Internet with instant-action kind of genealogical research/sharing. (That's another subject worth debate.) It was in those days that I learned about John Austin and Charity Kendrick. Don't think I've learned anything new about the Austins since! Guess that's why I sent my email to spark some talk about this line. I would like some information about Lunenburg Co., VA Austins. I know for sure that James Austin, supposedly the son of John and Charity (Kendrick) Austin, was in the Harpers Ferry, West Virginia area. No doubt the Austins were in Virginia prior. But Austin is a very popular name and I have no proof. Help is certainly appreciated. Clues extremely welcome. Francine Conn Halter
