I'm trying to identify my elusive AUSTIN line. My ancestor, Maria AUSTIN, was born 12 May 1799 in Sprakers Basin, Montogomery Co, NY. She is said to be the daughter of a Hessian soldier. (Hessians were the German troops who fought with the British in our Revolution.) In 1832 Maria married Asa SIBLEY in Hartsville (a hamlet of Manlius), Onondaga Co, NY. A John AUSTIN, slightly older than Maria, lives in close proximity to the SIBLEY family during the periods of the censuses of 1830, 1840, and 1850, but I don't know if he is related to Maria or not. I have not yet been successful in finding more information on her father. Do any of these sparse details fit with any of the known NY AUSTIN lines?
