I am looking for info that was included in one of Edith's early works on the misc Austin families. She wrote to my great grandfather about his family in 1950, unfortunately he died in 1949 and my g grandmother or my grandfather never answered her letter. However, another family member did. He submitted some info he had on the Austin family in New York. His name was Charles Austin and was a descendant of George Austin of NY. This branch of our family moved to Michigan Samuel Austin was born abt 1800 in NY, his father was Peter Austin. I would like to know if anyone has a copy of this book and if so what it contains about the family of Peter Austin. I have been unable to go back any further than Peter and all of that info is not complete. I do know he was born between 1760 and 70 and that he died sometime after 1840 in or around Danby NY.
