Does anyone out there know the genealogy for a T. J. Austin, Pvt. in the 9th AL Regiment of the CSA ? His father was said to be a William Austin of Fox Creek, North Alabama. In SAUNDERS, EARLY SETTLERS OF ALABAMA, page 169, Saunders says, "T. J. Austin, was severely wounded in the battle of Sharpsburg, and sent home by the surgeon, lingered awhile and died." Where was T.J. and William in the census of 1860? I am wondering if they could be related to my John C. Austin, of Morgan, Winston and Lawrence Co. AL ?
