Looking for information on Hiram Austin, born abt 1832 in New York, he is listed in the 1850 United States Federal Census. M432, 1009 rolls. National Archives and Records Administration, Washington D.C. Hartland, Niagara, New York, roll M432_561, page 314, image 122 He was 18 years old at the time. Hiram is the brother of my G,G, Grandpa George Comfront Austin. I have no information on Hiram other than he was listed in a family bible and is listed in this census,. Thank You Jim Austin

Jim, In case you haven't actually been able to view the actual image of the census, the 1850 Hartland, Niagara Co., NY household is comprised of: Head: Jeremiah Austin, age 24 Almina age 42 Margaret 22 HIRAM 18 Cyprona(?) 16 Comfort 14 Martha 12 William 10 Alva 7 Almina 4 All were born in NY. In the 1830 census of Pendleton, Niagara Co. there is a household headed by a Jeremiah Austin. I searched through both Pendleton & Hartland (Niagara Co.), but didn't find him in either place in the 1840 census doing a page by page search. My own line of Austins are located in Porter in 1830 & 1840. The Ancestry index requires the use of some imagination & creativity where spellings are concered. Jeremiah Austin is indexed as "Prrmiah Austin".
