From Helen Austin, Decatur, AL Dear Liz Carlin, Can you please tell me what census location for the 1830 period would be important for further research on the Austin line you mentioned in the recent Austin LIST? In a message dated 10/2/2004 12:00:42 PM Central Daylight Time, AUSTIN-D-request@rootsweb.com (Liz Carlin) writes: I noted at the time that they seemed to be related to the NC-SC-GA-AL " William and Ruth Austin " line. After checking out the 1840 Franklin Co., Alabama census for Richard, I feel very confident that he is the "Richard", son of Michael Austin, 1759 Ireland of the "William and Ruth Austin" line. As you probably remember, Liz, I am interested in any Austin families that migrated from NC/SC across AL in the period from 1800 to 1850. I am still searching for a family that Was in TN in 1824 (birth of Nancy Austin) and 1831 (Birth of John C. Austin). Both Nancy and John were living in North Alabama before 1860 and according to marriages of Morgan County both were married during the previous decade. I will look at the web page for the William and Ruth Austin Line when it is up. Thanks for posting this information. Helen
