Jane, I have taken a while to reply to your query, because, when I looked at your 1850 Census reference, Nancy was next to her apparent brother Michael Austin, who was next to her apparent father Richard Austin, and I wanted to check them out. I noted at the time that they seemed to be related to the NC-SC-GA-AL " William and Ruth Austin " line. After checking out the 1840 Franklin Co., Alabama census for Richard, I feel very confident that he is the "Richard", son of Michael Austin, 1759 Ireland of the "William and Ruth Austin" line. Nancy' s brother Michael has been moved from the "Southern Unplaced Austins" to the "William and Ruth Austin" line, and Nancy and her family, and the children of Richard Austin from the 1850 census have been added to "William and Ruth Austin" line. Unfortunately, the "Unplaced" and the "William and Ruth" lines have just been updated on the Website, so you will not see this present Update just yet. However, you will find your pertinent information in the above files. All Austin databases are developed and maintained by the genealogists and compilers of the Austin Families Assn of America. They can be viewed in "group sheet format" at the Austin Families Assn of America Website, www.afaoa.org/ Click on Austin Research. To read the database like a "book" narrative-by generation style, go to the Austin-Austen Research Center, www.aoags.org/ResearchCenter/ . You cannot print out AARC documents unless you are a member of one of the Austin groups that support it - so, of course, we suggest AFAOA. ) . Additions/corrections to the database, can ONLY be made to the live people at the Austin Families Assn of America Website www.afaoa.org/ .
