I have no further information about Mr. Austin or his family. ===================================== Stockton Harold Earle Austin Aug. 18, 1917 - Sept 1, 2004 Harold Earle Austin, 87 was born in Fresno, CA on August 18, 1917, and moved to Stockton in 1927. He graduated from Victory Grammar School, Stockton High School, and attended the College of the Pacific. He married the love of his life, Jean Turner Goodman, on August 27, 1938. His involvement in the grocery business began with Safeway Stores in Stockton and after service in the USMC during W.W. II, he return to Stockton and joined R. M. Warren Co., Wholesale Grocers, eventually becoming the owner. After selling his business, he finished his career as Branch Manager and Sales Manager of Monarch Foods in Sacramento. A lifelong sportsman, after retirement Harold became an avid golfer and spectator. With his wife, he attended spring training in Arizona each year. He was inducted in the Stockton Athletic Hall of Fame as a member of the 1932-1933 American Legion Champion baseball team. His many affiliations include: SIRS#46, Seventeen Club, Morningstar Lodge #68 Stockton High 12#9 and Kirkwood Homeowner's Association. He was an Ag. Expo volunteer and a board member of Stockton Water Reclamation District #5. Harold was preceded in death by his wife of 59 years, Jean, and brother Carroll D. Austin. Survivors include: sisters: Marilyn Meyer and Pat Howard, in-laws; Robert Carlson, Doris Austin and Jean and Steve Goodman, children; Kathy Henderson (Jim), Steve Austin (Teresa) and John Austin (Lynne), grandchildren; Michael (Szylvia), David, Nancy, Jeannie, Mary and Stephenie Austin, great grandchildren; Katie and Nicholas Austin, eleven nieces and nephews and a good friend in need and deed, Robert Doscher.
