Query to Austin List: From AustinART@bellsouth.net RE: Austin Soldiers in the First Alabama Cavalry of the United States 1862-1865 Helen: Some of you know that I am working on bio sketches of the 5 soldiers of North AL and No. MS who enlisted in the First AL Cav. Union. One of the soldiers was Jasper born about 1839. He enlisted at Corinth, Tishomingo Co, MS 16 Dec 1862 and mustered out at Memphis, TN one year later. I am puzzled because there are two possible families for this Jasper. Please reply if you know which family belonged to this Jasper?????????????? Also, I would like to have any additional information that you might share with me for possible future publication in AFAOA Newsletter. 1860 Census, for Riley JASPER AUSTIN Tishomingo, Co, MS, Corinth PO 31 Jul 661-661- Greenberry Austin 65, m, farmer, $100.
