Both he and Maggie are buried at Rosemound Cemetery in Waco. Howard Walter & Rena Maggie Culverhouse Austin had children: Vivian Austin, b. 1905, Texas Sylvia Austin, b. 1908, Texas; recorded as Sylvia Burmingham in her father's household in 1940, married, but with no husband or children in the household, supporting herself as a hatmaker & bookkeeper Sammy Lou Austin (female), b. 1913, Texas Jack Austin, b. 1917, Texas; d. 1994, Waco, McLennan Co., TX; m. Edith Marie Threlkeld, b. 1922, d. 1999, both in Waco, McLennan Co., TX, dau. of Floyd & Pearl (Unk.) Threlkeld. Both Jack & Edith are buried in Rosemound Cemetery in Waco, TX; Jack's grave marker indicates that he was a Army Air Corps veteran of World War II. Edith's obituary states that she was a well- known artist, and that she had two grandchildren, the children of her son (all 3 living as of 1999.) Benson "Poppy" Austin, b. 1919, & d. 2014, both in Waco, TX; a WWII Army Air Corps veteran, & for many years, a medic in the US Air Force. His obituary does not state the name of the mother of his son, but does indicate that Poppy also had 4 grandchildren (all 5 living in 2014.) Hoping to connect with some descendant of this end of my Austins. More to come! Pam pamstone@cfl.rr.com
