    3. Carol, In the Revolutionary War Land Grants and Pension Applications for Maine you can find Benjamin Austin of York was given a Land grant. If you can find the grant, it may say what his patriotic service was. Catherine Goodwin, Berwick, Maine To: AUSTIN@rootsweb.com Message-ID: <f685a.6a91807c.3ed0da54@aol.com> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="US-ASCII" There are posted databases that show a Benjamin Austin, b. 1698, son of Matthew Austin and Mary Littlefield of York. Benjamin m. Catherine Goodwin. The posted information shows that Benjamin Austin gave "Patriotic Service" during the Revolutionary War, but no additional information is provided. Benjamin Austin is not shown in the DAR database so either no one ever filed as a descendant or successfully filed an application. Does anyone have any more information or details about Benjamin Austin who I believe may be a direct ancestor of mine? Lots more research necessary to establish that fact.
