I have just completed a three-year task, the digitization of the Vital Records of Amherst, Hampshire Co, MA. They have been posted on Jane Devlins's Website, at http://dunhamwilcox.net/ma/0-index_amherst.htm There are 25 entries of the Austin surname. One section of the records are a bit unusual. It contains residents of Amherst who were not born, married, or did not die in the Town. They were culled from Tax Lists, Court Records, Selectman's meeting, Town military enlistment records. Those who have "brick walls" should look here. Carl Hommel
