Original: Using the new "Place Name Search" found on the Beta Test Research site, there were Austins from the "John Austin of Southside VA" and the "SC Nathaniel Austin" databases in Newton County, but about 20 years after your David Smith and Sarah Austin. There was one Austin though in "Southern Unplaced AUSTINS", a Toliver Lewis Austin, born ~1819 SC,who married Elizabeth Loyal, 7 Nov 1844 in Newton, GA. They moved on to Coosa Co., AL. She married David R Smith and they were listed in the 1830 Newton co Georgia census. I am trying to find who her parents were. I do not know if she was born in Georgia or another state and they came to Georgia where she was born ion 1814.
