    3. Shelley, This family is part of the "Samuel Austin of Boston, MA" line. Harry Eaton Austin and Mary Gansel had the three children mentioned. There seems to be a number of descendants. "Samuel Austin of Boston, MA " can be found on the Austin Families Assn of America Website www.afaoa.org . You can see it in Family Group Sheet style by going to Austin Research - Northern databases - MA Samuel. Or to see it "book" style go to the Text Document Search - Descendancy Books. When searching on a name in Text, there is one minor annoyance. There is a generation number between the given name and the surname when the person appears in the book as the "head" of his family (for example John1 Austin). Use the asterisk as a wild character to get around this feature (to search for John Austin, enter "John*Austin").The quotation marks are required to just return documents with John Austin and not all of the documents containing Austin or John. AUSTIN Family Photograph (Shelley Cardiel) ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Message: 1 Date: Wed, 3 Nov 2010 07:31:36 -0700 From: "Shelley Cardiel" <cardiels@comcast.net> Subject: [AUSTIN] AUSTIN Family Photograph To: <AUSTIN@rootsweb.com> Message-ID: <912C8551540E4DC2984F64B0568111C6@CardielPC> Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" I've "rescued" an old photograph of Harold, Hellen, and Howard AUSTIN which was taken at the Whitney Studio in Boise, Idaho. The photograph appears to have been taken in the early 1900's with the three children ranging in age from about 1 - 7 years old at the time. In addition to their names, someone has also written "Harry AUSTIN - Mother's Father's Brother's Children" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was able to locate the following information regarding the family: Howard AUSTIN was b. 30 May 1904 and died 12 Mar 1997 in Ada County, ID. Census records provide the following information: 1910 census of Boise, ID: Harry E. AUSTIN, age 42, born VT Mary I. AUSTIN, wife, age 36, born WI Harold G. AUSTIN, son, age 8 Helen M. AUSTIN, dau, age 6 Howard D. AUSTIN, son, age 5 1920 census of Boise, ID: Harry E. AUSTIN, age 52, born VT Mary G. AUSTIN, wife, age 45, born WI Harold G. AUSTIN, son, age 18 Helen M. AUSTIN, dau, age 16 Howard D. AUSTIN, son, age 15 I am hoping to locate someone from this AUSTIN Family so that the photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
