    1. [AUSTIN] Panter, Painter, Panther Austin, Cherokee m Sallie Tyler abt 1860
    2. Helen Austin
    3. PANTER, PAINTER, PANTHER  AUSTIN This is a stretch.  I am searching for a AUSTIN family of SE US that might be related to a Samuel Austin b Sep 1864 who d 6 Nov 1901 in the Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, OK.  He applied for Indian land in OK as a full blood Cherokee.  However, his children, later, put white on the census box. He may not be on census before 1900 unless listed as white. According to DAWES COMMISSION records of 1900  and 1900 census, Parents of Samuel were PANTER AUSTIN and SALLIE TYLER probably born between 1830-1850 in AL, TN, GA, NC in Cherokee mountain communities. Wife of Sam Austin (or Sam Daylight) was Malinda Ratley b Sep 1865 who married first to Andy Rogers and third in 1901 to James Eagle.  Children of Sam and Malinda (Lindy) were Lizzie b Sep 1892, Minnie b Jan 1895, Josie b May 1897, William b Apr 1900 all in Remy, Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory, Oklahoma. After Panter Austin died, his wife Sallie married George DAYLIGHT, another Cherokee and they lived in Cherokee Nation, I T, OK.  Sallie died before 1880 and Samuel Austin raised Sarah Daylight his half/sister.   Sarah was still living in 1920 as a single woman in Oklahoma. Lizzie, Minnie and Josie Austin probably married before 1920 and may have descendants. William Austin, b 1900 was still living in 1910 in Remy, OK and may have descendants? Is he one of your ancestors?
