    1. ATTENTION!! DON CHALIS Re: William Young AUSTIN and Frances Allen POLLOCK
    2. Don, I have a lady, Jana McIver, who needs your help. She's working on the same line that some of my AUSTINS came from. She can be reached at [email protected] I thought of you since you have helped me and may have more info than I do. Sorry to have to use rootsweb to contact you, but I seem to have lost your email address. I'll be sure and make a hard copy this time. Yours, Don E. Goad [email protected]

    1. Austin, James Henry and Feby; Kokomo Indiana area late 30s or 40's
    2. Willie Smith
    3. I have found out that my James Henry Austion and his wife, Feby Frances Steele Austin, were living in the Kokomo area of Indiana after moving there from Bald Knob Arkansas following a tornado which destroyed everything they had. If any of you have information on these Austins, hope you will contact me. Feby was born in 1877, and probably died in the 30's or 40's. Not sure what county Kokomo is in! Thanks Will Smith [email protected]

    1. IDA MAE AUSTIN
    2. robbin
    3. Looking for information on my great-grandmother IDA MAE AUSTIN. I have no b. date or d. date. I believe she may have been born in NY. She m. my great-grandfather ZINA (aka Bill) BRAINERD who was born in NY in 1855, so I am guessing she would have been born around that time. I know that they were living in Onondaga, MI. in 1885, as my grandfather was born there, unfortunately, all the records from there were destroyed in a fire. They were living in Petosky, MI. from at least 1890-1895, where IDA MAE gave birth to three more children there. Any help would be greatly appreciated, Robbin Brainerd [email protected] http://www.geocities.com/Heartland/Park/7294

    1. Samuel & Hopestill Austin Line
    2. Michael E Austin
    3. At the 1998 National Austin Convention in Salt Lake City, Glenn Matthew Austin revealed through court depositions that Samuel Austin's wife Hopestill was definitely the niece of Elizabeth (Wheelwright) Pearson. Further speculation was that the Hopestill Bell b.1644 to Thomas and Ann Bell is Samuel's wife, but proof that Ann Bell's maiden name was Pearson is needed to confirm that. Would like to contact anyone working this line, especially those interested in researching Samuel & Hopestill's origins.

    3. My father was Harold A. Maxwell, son of Samuel and Esther Woods Austin. We show that she was born in 1856 rather than 1857. Which is correct I do not know. She died 20 Jul 1948 in Seattle. We show that her father, Dennis, died 19 Feb 1915 in Miltonvale, Kansas. Her mother, Harriet Gary, died 30 March 1900, in Whiteside County. I have additional information on the Garys and the Spauldings if you have any need for it. We also show some ancestors of Margaret (Peggy) Livings. One question. Page 33 item shows Margaret Stuart's father as Daniel Lockwood and her mother as Sarah Stuart. I assume, since it says "she had a daughter, Margaret," that Lockwood must have been a second marriage. We show Margaret's father as Daniel Stuart (which may then be wrong) and the mother as simply Sarah. We have no ancestors for either. Do you have any indication that the Austins and Stuarts came from Scotland and, maybe, together? This is oral information handed down. You indicated in your E-mail that your records do not show a spouse for William Son of Isaac, but does show a daughter Miranda and son Dennis. We show that William Austin, son of Isaac, married Margaret (Peggy) Livings. She was born 8 Apr 1799 in New Jersey and died 3 Oct 1877 in Mt. Pleasant Township, Ill. She was the daughter of Daniel Lioux Livings, born 1 Aug 1776 in New Jersey (possibly New Brunswick) and married Mary "Polly" Ellison on 12 May 1798. He died 7 Oct 1863 in Whiteside County, Il. Mary was born 22 Nov. 1771 in New Jersey and died 15 Dec 1851 in Switzerland Co., Indiand. Daniels father was Richard Livings and was born and married in England. His wife's name was Rachel. 1. Perry-Austin; marriage of Stephen Austin's sister to James Franklin Perry
    2. Anna L Richardson
    3. Stephen Austin helped to colonize Texas; his father had the original contract from the Spanish government. To learn if the James Franklin Perry who married Stephen Austin's sister, Emily Margaret Brown Austin, was from our roots, we may have to go back to England or beyond. Do you have information from England? There is a good deal of Austin genealogy in the back, minus some facts, like where they lived. It goes back to Richard Austin, b. 1598, England. It is: PEACH POINT PLANTATION, THE FIRST 150 YEARS, by Marie Beth Jones.---Texian Press, Waco, TX, (no zip code given) 1982. Guess it would be best to order it from there. The library of Congress # is: 82-050973. Though this was his sister's home, Austin had a bedroom/office there, and this was his only Texas "home". All of the place was destroyed....yet his room still stands, and still owned by descendants, and I am sure that they rebuilt as time went by, except for this little building. The Perrys have been prominent in the history of this part of early Texas, and were in Washington County, as well, very early in the history of the Spanish, then Mexican State of Texas. Ducalion Perry, son of Sion Perry, was my ancestor who was here at those times.
