    3. In the publication "Austins of America", February 1984, page 95-97, there is an article entitled Illinois Austin Biographies. It is an adaptation of "The Biographical Record of Whiteside County, Illinois...1879". There are extensive details on the Isaac Austin and Deborah Reynolds family including their child William and his wife Margaret Livings, parents of Dennis Austin ( 1 1/2 pages on Dennis ). One page on Isaac Austin and his siblings Hiram, William and Lenore. Isaac and Hiram's parents are Steward Austin and Louisa Reynolds. Dr. Mike Austin, editor of "Austins of America", says that copies are available in most State Libraries, as well as major Genealogical libraries. If unable to locate this publication, he will copy article for you. You can contact him at [email protected] Liz Austin Carlin

    1. Edith Austin Moore
    2. I am looking for info that was included in one of Edith's early works on the misc Austin families. She wrote to my great grandfather about his family in 1950, unfortunately he died in 1949 and my g grandmother or my grandfather never answered her letter. However, another family member did. He submitted some info he had on the Austin family in New York. His name was Charles Austin and was a descendant of George Austin of NY. This branch of our family moved to Michigan Samuel Austin was born abt 1800 in NY, his father was Peter Austin. I would like to know if anyone has a copy of this book and if so what it contains about the family of Peter Austin. I have been unable to go back any further than Peter and all of that info is not complete. I do know he was born between 1760 and 70 and that he died sometime after 1840 in or around Danby NY. Any help will be appreciated. Thanks! Alinda

Bonnie Bigolin, the AFAOA genealogist, and 11 other contributors are listed as the compilers of this work. 3. I am researching descendents of Thomas AUSTIN, born abt 1790 in England. He immigrated to America with his wife and seven children. His wife and one child reportedly died at sea. I have located Thomas Austin and this family in Ohio,US in 1843, when Thomas married Mary Ann Henessey. The last child that I have a birth date for is George in England, 1832. So they must have come to the states between 1832 and 1843. Children of THOMAS AUSTIN and are: 1-THOMAS AUSTIN, (II), b. December 09, 1824, England; d. July 04, 1899, Watervliet, Berrien, Michigan. 2-WILLIAM AUSTIN, b. Abt. 1825, England; d. August 07, 1874, Ogden, Weber, Utah. 3-PHILIP AUSTIN, b. Abt. 1830, England. 4-GEORGE AUSTIN, b. Abt. 1832, England 5-(FIRST NAME UNKNOWN) AUSTIN, b. Unknown, England; d. Unknown, At sea (Atlantic Ocean) 6-GRACE AUSTIN, b. Unknown, England; d. Unknown. 7-JAMES AUSTIN, b. Unknown, England; d. 3. It's possible, but I can find no Hiram in the information I have. William was born 11 Nov 1795 in Rensselaer Co., N.Y, and died 22 Oct 1859 in Mt. Pleasant Township, Ill. He married Margaret (Peggy) Livings about 1854. She was born 8 Apr 1799 and died 3 Oct 1877 in Mt. Pleasant Township, Ill. William was the son of Isaac Austin who was baptized 16 Apr 1762 and died in Renselaer Co., N.Y. in 1802. He married Deborah Reynolds who died in 1802 also. We show Isaac's father as David Austin who was baptized 5 Jan 1739 and married a Margaret Stuart. Deborah Reynolds was the daughter of Reuben Reynolds II and Hepzibah Reynolds. Reuben was born 1735 and died 1819. Hepzibah was born 1744 and died 1823. I have tentative ancestors of Margaret Stuart and both Reynolds. David Austin and Margaret Stuart had children: Sylvanus, Holmes,Mary, Charles Stuart, Hannah, Isaac (ours), Isaiah, Prudence, Samuel & Jeremiah. Isaac and Deborah Reynolds had six children: Isaac, Joel, Stewart, Seymour, Sarah and William. William and Peggy Livings had, we show, ten children: We do not show a Stewart as a son of William. So glad to get that information (any dates, marriages, etc.). We show Ezra died in infancy. Maria, 27 Jan 1820; Miranda, March 1822; Daniel L., 22 Oct 1823; Dennis; Jonathan died aged two years; Silas 6 Dec 1830; Martin V, 1833; Georgiana, 1837; William S. Dennis and Harriet Gary also had ten children: Emory 19 May 1848 who drowned in Rock Creek at the age of twelve; Millard F, 27 Oct 1850; Frank P, 20 Mar 1853; Harrison C, 9 Apr 1855; Esther W. (my grandmother), 20 Apr 1857; Olive B., 17 Sep 1860; Lincoln A, 11 Jan 1864; Hattie B, 22 Dec 1869; Clara E, 21 Mar 1870; and Clark D, 17 Apr 1873. I have names of some of the other grandchildren of William and Peggy - but no Hiram. If any one else has information on this line, I would be glad to receive it. Married ca 1791 Ann Reeves, daughter of George and Jane (Burton) Reeves of New River Plantation. The 1830 Census of Ashe Co., NC places his birth 1760-1770. I have him listed as the grandson of John Austin Jr. and Mary McBee. Children of Bartholomew and Anne are; William 1792, Isaiah 1793, Jane 1795 married Bill Sanders, Jesse 1 Jan 1797-19 Jun 1890 married Margaret Douglas, Andrew 1799 married Louisanne Bryant, Lucinda 1802, David 1804, John 1806, George 1808 - 1854 Grayson Co., VA married Eleanor Fields, Robert 1811, Prudence 1813, Jackson 1815 and Edwin 1817. Jane Burton could be related to the Burton/Hatcher line that is part of my Stovall line. I have William Austin as BROTHER to my line of Stephen Austin and Dorcas Pinson. Stephen and Dorcas lived for awhile in Wayne Co., TN before settling and dying in Hardin Co., TN at Hollands Creek. Dorcas Pinson is grand-daughter of John Stovall and Dorcas *Unk. 2. Greetings, I am posting this to the group in response to messages recently posted regarding Austins in Illinois. There was an Isaac Austin who married Deborah Reynolds and had several children. Two of them are particularly interesting to this discussion: Stewart abt 1790 and William 1795 who was father to Dennis and Daniel Livermore. Daniel's wife Myra died and was buried in the Lyndon Cemetery. Dennis is related to Robert Maxwell and I believe that Stewart is the Stewart who lived in Lyndon and was the father to Hiram. I have no proof of this but there are several things that make that seem very reasonable. What do you think Robert, Robert and Michael? I can gedcom the info on this line to anyone who is interested.
