    1. Elizabeth Austin/Joseph Finch
    2. MR KURTIS A WIETING
    3. I am relatively new to the list and wondered if anyone had information on this particular Austin family : Elizabeth Austin who married Joseph FINCH in Stamford, CT in 1670. She apparently was the daughter of John Austin (d.1673) and Catherine ----. Elizabeth may have had two brothers : John and Thomas. I have also noticed there was some speculation that this Austin family was from Kent. Are there any citations anyone can direct me to in order to learn more about this family??? Regards, Kurtis Wieting

    1. AUSTIN, Peter
    2. Hello everyone!! I'm putting out a desperate cry for help!! I am looking for anyone who has a Peter Austin in their family tree. I can't find any info on him. I know he was in NY in 1790-1840 in Tioga, Tompkins, Steuben Counties and maybe in Westchester and Albany Co. He married Susannah ? and they had around 12 or more children. Some of the names of affiliated families are Townsend, Rogers, Markle, Howard, and maybe Byer. According to the census records he would have been born sometime between 1760-70, and I believe he died between 1840-50 in NY. I am at a complete dead end and will welcome any help!! Thanks!! Alinda

    3. Bonnie, thanks for all the information you sent me. I have been derelict in sending these thanks. If I am correct, you were the one that sent me a copy of pages 96 and 97 of "Austins of America" and on that page is listed the children of William and Margaret and some of their descendants. In your E-mail of July 25 you indicated that your files did not show a spouse for William and only Miranda and Dennis as children. Have you been able to trace that line back any further than David (1739) and Margaret Stuart? Bob Maxwell

VA 1825 Eliza 11 b. MO 1849 Sarah L. 9 b. MO 1851 Susan 2 b. MO 1858 There must have been two sons born to Jackson and Margaret as Sarah's obit states two brothers survive her. Does anyone have any information on this Austin line? Who are Andrew Jackson AUSTIN's parents and siblings? Thank you for your help. Joanne Boudreau [email protected]

    2. maurice & zeta moore
    3. Trying to find my husbands great grandparents, Joseph Harvey(?) Austin married to Mary Jane Shaw This is the information that we have been able to gather: Joseph born abt 1806 in NY married Mary Jane born abt 1814 in NY (I do not have documentation). Found them in the 1840-44 Michigan book with 2 children that we now believe were Brice brn 1841 and Celestra brn 1844. 1850 census found in the Rock Island Co., Illinois census with child called Phoebe later named Marian Agnes Austin (my husbands great grandmother). 1860 Still on Rock Island Co., Ill. census. Haven't been able to document their lives before 1840 or after 1860. Where did this family go? Marian Agnes married Jarot Tennis in 1868 in Hartford, Lyon Co., KS but they were not in the 1870 KS census (that I could find). Marian's first child, George Tennis born 1873 in Montogomery Co., KS. By 1875 they were in Joplin, MO. where Jaret dies and I have not been able to find ONE word on his death date or ect. Marian Agnes remarries in 1876 in MO. to Columbus Griffith. Can you fill in any of the information for me? Any ideas where to look for additional information? No one in my husband's family has any information or pictures. Thanks for checking your records. Z

William is our ancestor and was born 11 Nov 1795 and died 22 Oct 1859 in Mt.. Pleasant Township (Lyndon), Illinois. Is it possible that this is the "Stewart" you list as your (1)? 1. Thomas Austin Family
    2. William, Got your letter by a post to Rootsweb. Pardon and the others you mentioned seem to be in the same family. I believe them to be sons of Thomas Austin who appeared on the census with them but was gone the next census. There is a Thomas who is a descendant of Robert Austin of Rhode Island who married Mary Dawley. They end up further west and died in Exeter,Otsego,New York. I cannot make the bridge from the one to the other but after checking all the men named Thomas Austin who were born around 1745 that seems to make the most sense. Any info you can give on the family would be much appreciated. I have a lot on Pardon and family and Freeman who is my wifes line. Be very interested in exchanging info. There are others who are also from this line who are very anxious to solve this puzzle. Thanks Don Challis

His parents were Wilsey Austin and Elizabeth Dusenbury. Ask some more questions! Valerie [email protected] wrote: > > I've never put a query on here before.
