Hi! I'm looking for information about the Wright Austin family. Wright married Margaruite Ankerman. They had a son Kenneth D., born March 24, 1919. Kenneth married Thelma Zimmer September 28, 1941. I have sent this query to several lists, so I apologize if some of you folks will be reading it more than once. I am descended from John ELAM and Irena Jane [AUSTIN?] of GA. John was born in 1810 in Chester Co. SC to George Phillips ELAM and an unknown wife. Irena Jane was born ca 1817 in SC, but I don't know the names of her parents. John's sister Cynthia, who was born in 1801 in Chester Co. SC married a John B. AUSTIN in 1827 in DeKalb Co. GA. Was he Irena's brother? There were AUSTINs in Carroll Co. GA in 1850 but I can't tell if they are related to Irena or not. Census records seem to indicate that they lived in the Lumpkin District of Stewart Co. GA in 1840. By 1847 they had moved to the Lithonia area of DeKalb Co. GA, where my ancestor Wiley Cumbia ELAM was born. By 1850 they were in Carrollton, Carroll Co. GA. Irena died there between 1870 and 1880. John was still living in 1880, but I don't know when he died. John and Irena Jane (AUSTIN?)
