    1. [AUSTIN] Nichols and Austin
    2. Barbara Smith
    3. Hello Everyone, I would welcome any help and information on my Nichols and Austin family lines please. The Nichols and Austin family members I am interested in are part of an Austin Families' database, "Thomas of Virginia." Unfortunately, this database is not posted on othe Austin web site. The Austins that I am are interested in are the children of Richard Austin, born 1775, died 1830. He married 1) Elizabeth Simons in 1803, and had four daughters. Following her death, he married, in 1811, Mary Odel, born about 1785. They had 12 children. Ann Austin was the fourth of these children; our records did not give information about her marriage to William Nichols. Elike Austin was the tenth child, born 6 Sep 1814, died 22 Jan 1871 in Shelbyville, IL. Our files show he married Matilda, but we did not have her last name. They had four children. Samuel Austin, the eleventh child, was born in 1820, and died 24 Mar 1901. He married Malinda Nichols, born 20 Feb 1820, and they had six children. One son of Samuel and Malinda was William Richard Austin, born 14 Oct 1844, died 28 May 1914. He married Josephine Mary Bivins on 21 Sep 1865. They had four children. Their marriage ended in divorce. 3. There will be a Revolutionary War Patriot Grave Marking Ceremony for Benjamin Dillery Austin (Jan. 21, 1760-1846 est.) on Sunday, Oct. 29, 2006 at 3:00 PM at gravesite near Antioch Baptist Church, Taylorsville, NC (131 Ginger Creek Lane.) Please contact Robert Austin at (828) 495-7531 or fiddlersridge@charter.net. All descendants are invited. Benjamin Dillery Austin is in the "William Austin of Kent, MD" line, on the Austin Families Assn of America Website www.afaoa.org . You can see it in Family Group Sheet style by going to Research - Southern databases - MD William Austin. Or to see it "book" style go to the Text Document Search - Descendancy Books. When searching on a name in Text, there is one minor annoyance, since the Search will only find "exact" matches. When the person is born, or is a parent, no problem. But when the person is the "head" person, there is a Generation Number between the first and last name, and the Search will not locate the person. To find the "Head" and his/her family, search on the parent's or child's name. Liz Austin Carlin Genealogist Austin Families Assn of America

    3. Thanks Carl Almina who was Jeremiah mother was born in Vermont in abt 1808 (i have no proof of this) also i have no proof, but the story in my family goes that two very young girls by the last name of Fuller was stolen by the Mohawk Indians, the girls where raised and married Oneida Indians, and my Fuller girl had a daughter who married a Onondaga Indian and that some where in all this they took the name of Austin. Not sure if i ever will find out any more, I do know my Grandpa would never admit to having any Indian blood in him and would not even discuss it. The only thing i do know for sure is what was in the family bible which lists all the kids names and also that Almina's husband name was Zebediah Now that i have probably confused you here i better close Jim > [Original Message] > From: <chommel6@comcast.net> > To: M Nickless <unicorn1950@comcast.net>; <austin@rootsweb.com>; Sparky <sparky@southwind.net>; <AUSTIN-L@rootsweb.com> > Cc: M Nickless <unicorn1950@comcast.net> > Date: 9/11/2006 8:05:29 PM > Subject: Re: [AUSTIN] Hiram Austin 1850 census > > I suggest that you search the Austin WebSite, especially the Moore book.
