Hi Amanda Do you mean the Sandgate near Newcastle. Or the Sandgate a suburb of Brisbane. I grew up in Sandgate, Brisbane, and the cemetery which goes back many years is known as the Bald Hills Cemetery. My grandparents are buried there. I have been meaning to contact someone about it. I think it is controlled by the Pine Rivers Shire Council. This cemetery was also known as the Sandgate cemetery. I think it might now be closed to new burials. My grandmother was buried there in 1952. Also the only Woodend I know is a suburb of Ipswich, about 25 km west of Brisbane. Is this the one?
