Good Morning Listers, Could someone please advise me regarding details on a Victorian death certificate? Re Section (9) " When and Where Buried. Undertaker by whom certified." - I have always taken the second part to be just as it appears ie. the name of the undertaker. I have a certificate where the undertaker's surname is the same as that of the deceased (no, it's not Smith!). Would I be correct in assuming that this is just a coincidence and that the undertaker is not necessarily a relative, or would there ever be an instance where a relative might certify on behalf of the undertaker? Hoping that someone more experienced than myself can confirm this for me. Kind regards, Beverley NSW
