Hello Beverley In that column they sometimes put the names of one or two witnesses to the burial. So the name could belong to a relative. Just a thought. Undertaker by whom certified." - I have always taken the second part to be just as it appears ie. the name of the undertaker. I have a certificate where the undertaker's surname is the same as that of the deceased (no, it's not Smith!). Would I be correct in assuming that this is just a coincidence and that the undertaker is not necessarily a relative, or would there ever be an instance where a relative might certify on behalf of the undertaker? > > Hoping that someone more experienced than myself can confirm this for me. > > Kind regards, > > Beverley > NSW > > > ==== AUSSIE-GEN-RESEARCH Mailing List ==== > Have you visited AUSSIE-GEN-RESEARCH Web site yet? > Please do?
