Quite few years ago I went to Melbourne PRO looking for a Richard Davenport, who I thought could have migrated from UK about 1858 or there abouts he would have been 21/22. I found one coming out in that year ( I have only found one Richard in all lists of any years) anyway being a complete idiot and novice; when this Richard said he was 25 I slid the card back into the box surely he was not mine - too old. What a fool I was! though I have been back many times to the PRO, and the card system was updated my Richard is still in limbo. The PRO tells me that a box is missing but no one can tell why or where it is; or what happened to the info in it. Saying it probably was not important; But my Richard was in that box, I think. Anyone come across this problem at the PRO? and How do I find my husbands Gt Gt Grandfather? any suggestions anyone, cheers Valmae
