Morning listers Can anyone advise as to where i will find a printable URL that will tell me 1/What 1840ish assisted immigrants were allowed to bring with them? 2/Actually what happened to them when they disembarked? ie where did they go? with no money how did teysurvive till they found work? blankets cooking utensils etc 3/If a private citizen sponsored them what onligations did he have if any? Also I need help locating a family ....I think My problem is that in 1862 Dudley McGrath who had arrived way back in 1840 sponsored a family of 8 by the surname of Loughry he paid 5pound for 35yr old Michael 5 32yr old Bridget 3 11yr James 3 9 Catherine 3 7 Sarah 2 5 Mary Ann 2 3 Bridget 2 2 Susan Of the 40 thta Dudley sponsored 32 came to NSW and I have traced family lines but the 8 LOUGHRYs are a mystery so far If the family didnt come would there be a record of the money being returned? is there a wat of finding out if they didnt come?
