    1. [A.G.R. ] LONG Family Handborough/Woodstock Area
    2. Thomas Peeke
    3. Sunday 13th April 2003 Dear All, I am researching the Long family from Handborough, Oxfordshire and was wondering if any of you know of any links to this area. I have traced back to George Long & Mary Stevens who were married 1st April 1733 in Handborough, Oxfordshire. The family seem to have been Farmers & Carpenters/Sawyers. A lot of the ladies in the family were Glove Makers. I have set up a website with more information about the long family at. http://www.speareroots.co.uk/oxfordshire_family_roots.htm If you think you could have links to this part of Oxfordshire I would love to hear from you. Best wishes Thomas Peeke Oxford, UK -- Thomas Peeke

    1. [A.G.R. ] Re: Otto Munster from Germany to Qld
    2. Chris Schmidt
    3. Hi! I am posting this query on behalf of a friend of mine whom I am helping with research. She is trying to track the relatives of her father Roy Sydney Edward Munster who died in 1971 in Rockhampton. The information we do have has come from her mother who, due to circumstances in the marriage, has no contact with any of her ex-husbands relatives. She is also unwell and gets a bit confused with her memories, so I can't vouch for the accuracy off the info. There are living brothers and sister who due to circumstances, my friend has no contact with and who when contacted expressed no interest in further contact. The name could originally be spelled with an umlaut over the "u" or ue. We do not know where in Germany the family originated or when they came out. The family's Australian history seems to be spent around Rockhampton and North Queensland and as far south as Bundaberg. This is what we know: 1. Otto Munster 2. Herbert Cleveland Munster 3. Ruth Judy Faith Munster 3. Cleve 3. Roy Sydney Edward Munster b. 7 Oct 1928, Blair Athol, Qld, d. 1971, Rockhampton, Qld m. 1953 in Wondell (or Wandell or something like that) Methodist Church, Rockhampton. The wife is still living and has re-married. This Roy is my friend's father. She also has a brother called Roy. Her father was in the army from 1949 to 1958 in the 42nd Battalion at Rockhampton and also later 8th Battalion in Brisbane. He was in signals and a scout, leaving the army with the rank of sergeant and did serve in the Korean War. Before being diagnosed with cancer in the late 1960s, he worked at a sugar mill at Claymere, Ayr. Anyone with any information please contact me privately, or via the list. Regards Chris Schmidt
