I also have another two children belonging to Edith who are registered with different surnames. Elsie Irene Georgina CAMPBELL, father George Malcolm, mother Edith Wissing, born Sth. Melbourne 1901 (reg. no. 20954R) Elsie Irene Gina OHLHOFF, father unknown, mother Edith Wissing, born Melbourne 1901 (reg. no. 20954R) Elsie Irene Gina WISSING, father unknown, mother Edith Wissing, born Sth. Melbourne 1901 (reg. no. 20954R) Edith Wissing married an OHLHOFF, a CAMPBELL and a TAYLOR (in that order I think). Jenny Victoria

    2. Sharon: Thank you for checking for me. Yes, this is the family. With information from various replies, we have found that Ada was fostered/adopted and is/was not a genuine NIOA. But she did live with Manuel NIOA who was her mother's second husband. Also her brother who was Alf in one place was Alfred in the first family. Confusing? We'll get it all worked out, I am sure. Thanks to helpful people like you. Ada married Herbert BODDY. I believe that somewhere along the line, the family shortened the name to BODY, but I am not sure. Now if I could only find living, breathing descendants who have pictures and stories???? I live in hope. Dona

    3. Dear All, Many thanks to all who responded to my request a few weeks ago. The response has been marvelous and where possible I have thanked all privately. However I received another cutting today anonymously per snail mail from the Age of 5th July, so I thank this person for this. Doug was Tasmanian born and moved to Victoria as a youngster before his cricket career began, and in all took part in 12 or 13 tests to 1953 including the famous Test of 1948. Sadly there was little recognition locally in Tas of his career! Cheers, Maree

    3. Hi Dona, You don't mention a time period for your Boddy family. There is a Herbert BODDY on the W.A. Karrakatta Cemetery indexes. This Herbert Boddy died age 77 on 29 Sept 1961. Could this be him? You can find the record at: http://www.mcb.wa.gov.au/Search/default.htm Click on Search by name & type in the name Boddy. Also there is a Ada Florence Ethel Maud BODDY listed on the W.A. Fremantle Cemetery site, she died 20 Oct 1970 aged 71 years. Could this be his wife? You can find the record at: http://www.fcb.wa.gov.au/two/index.html Click on search & type BODDY in to the surname field. If you do a search of the WW2 site that lists all men who served in WW2 you will find there are 3 listings of interest. All with next of kin listed as Herbert BODDY & all from W.A. Arthur Bramwell BODDY born 8 March 1926 Albert Edward BODDY also born 8 March 1926 Herbert Frank BODDY born 21 Jan 1922 http://www.ww2roll.gov.au/ Hope this helps.
