Ada, As I got a bit further down my list and was looking for the numbers I needed to order more records I did come across an inquest with two references, the only difference is the Unit ID numbers. I have ordered both and will let you know the outcome. It does seem very strange to me because the person in question was 19 months of age and died after falling down a mine shaft. When I tried to order the other "probate" record it told me to refer to the other record so I hope they have both of them together. Hello Jenny, Since there is no charge, if it was me, I'd order both, solve the problem, then put up my findings to the list. It is unusual to have two inquests on the same person, but it is possible, with an exhumation and re-discovery of some evidence (e.g. poison) not tested in the original inquest. However, it is most unusual. The first surmise is that there are two people involved. Now, I hope you will look into this and put me out of my misery... I love the unusual and apparent contradictions, and particularly if I can learn something that may be useful for others doing research. I love to drop little gems and examples into my guest speaker talks, and they help other people who might never have thought that "the different" was possible. Thanks in anticipation, Regards Ada At 20:13 08-10-03 +1000, Jenny Gray wrote: >Hi List, > >Just ordering some records online to view at PROV and have come across two >records with the same Title/Description number, the one I want is >VPRS28/POO20/323, but am wondering if I should also order the other (listed >below). To who ever sent this: Thank you ever so much. This really cheered up my day. Hi List, Could the answer please go to the list as I, too, would like to read the explanation as I also have a similar case in 'the tree' Mary Anne, Myrtleford, Vic. ----- Original Message -----
Dear List, Just to let you all know I have found a researcher in Vic who is very reasonably priced and does a tremendous job. Extremely happy with all she has researched for me and I haven't had a long wait. Contact: Lyn Morgan <lynmorgan@ozemail.com.au> Best wishes to you all Amanda - windy Sydney, NSW.
Hi List, On the Digger Inquest Index Victoria, I have found my Robert Malcolm Campbell, but am confused by what I found..... The inquest date is 10.12.1925, but the death certificate was not issued until 1931. His death is also on the Digger death index as 1931. Why was the inquest in 1925, but the death certificate 1931? Cause of death is stated as "inhaled vomit and water whilst bathing". Jenny
