    1. [A.G.R. ] VIRUS INFECTION - Sorry!
    2. peter Saunders
    3. It seems there is a virus being spread at present where an email is sent a blank attachment. I have had several of these in the last day or so, and unfortunately the virus was not detected by my anti-virus and an attachment was opened. As soon as the problem was detected steps were taken to remove the virus from the computer, but it seems several messages may have been automatically sent out before we were aware of the problem. If anyone has received a message from me with a blank attachment, please do not open it. Also, if anyone has replied to my query on the Chesterfield family could you please resend it, as several messages have been deleted without opening. Please accept my sincere apologies if anyone has been inconvenienced by this problem. Kind regards, Maureen.

    1. [A.G.R. ] Thomas HILL, Maldon
    2. Wendy Evans
    3. Hello, I am looking for any information on the descendants of Thomas HILL who lived in Maldon from about 1854 to 1901. He had purchased a plot in the Maldon cemetery when his daughter died in 1867 but when Thomas himself died in 1901, he was buried in a public grave. In the years between, other people (unknown to me) were buried in the grave which Thomas had bought. The cemetery records even claim that one of these people had a public burial. If Thomas purchased the plot, why would it say that someone else did? The details of these other people are:- Name Purchaser of Plot Date Caroline Smith (Public) 06.07.1875 Mary Martha Young Margaret Young 14.07.1884 Walter F Young aged 1 Arthur Young 1.11.1894 Charles Young aged 77 Thomas Hill 18.12.1896 Ruby Jane Young aged 4 ? Young 6.10.1897 Margaret Young aged 76 Thomas Hill 13.10.1910 I would be grateful if anyone could shed some light on this mystery. Regards Wendy in sunny Queensland, Australia [email protected]

    3. Hello Annette, Mollie Gillen's book is a triumph. She has thoroughly researched every person who embarked on the 11 ships of the First Fleet - and it makes fascinating reading. Your Thomas Acres was quite a live-wire evidently and he has one of the longer entries. Any library should have a copy, so you should have no trouble getting hold of it. I believe that Mollie Gillen died only a few years ago. I hope she has a shrine somewhere. 3. If you change your name now you do it at the Registry of Births Deaths and Marriages and yes your birth certificate is changed or at least a new one is issued. This has been the case for the last 25 years to my knowledge. If you signed a document called a Deed Poll, the birth certificate was not changed.
