Just airing my research interests: One WALTER SCOTT - bn 1867 nr Upwell, Cambridgeshire, UK Disappeared about 1905 after taking his fathers cattle to market in King's Lynn, Norfolk U.K.; he banked the sale money in his father's bank account and was never seen again! The family believe he went to Canada - but to date I haven't been able to find him, so I am spreading the net a bit wider! My father [aged 77] is getting desperate to know about the Grandfather he never knew, so I have put everything I know about Walter onto my website in the hope that someone may recognise the details: http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~cawthorn/Scott/scott.html Comments & suggestions as always gratefully received. This was posted to another list so if you can help, please reply direct to Mel in England at [email protected] Thanks, Robynne Hi folks, My first post to a non-English based list, looking for the proverbial needle in a haystack. My grandfather was Ralph HALL (bn Brandon, Cty Durham in 1864) who married Sarah Ann SWADDLE (bn Auckland, Cty Durham 1868). They had five offspring. Greener (bn Durham 1891), James William (bn Durham 1890's), Thomas (bn Durham abt 1895), Ralph (bn Durham 1901), and my mother Ethel (bn Brancepeth, Durham 1906). I am seeking offspring of James William HALL (1890's), wife's name unknown. So far as I am able to recall he had four daughters who were probably all born somewhere in the 1920 -30's. Their names are recollected as being Audrey, Norma, Josephine, and Enid who I believe all married Canadian soldiers at the end of the second world war. The names of their husbands cannot be clearly recalled. Josie stayed in England but the others went to Canada with their husbands. One of the girls (I think it was Audrey) divorced her husband and emigrated from Canada to Australia where she remarried to a gent whose name I do not know. I recall that somewhere about the early 1960's she was on a world cruise which included England and at that time she visited her aunt Ethel (then BAILEY) at her home in Luton, Bedfordshire. That was the one and only time I saw her after the war. I did not start researching my family history until the mid 1990's by which time my mother and all her siblings were dead. So far as I have been able to trace there are only two of Greener HALL's daughters who are still alive and neither of them had any contact with their uncle Jim's daughters since the 1930's so they are unable to help. Can any kind person on this list offer any suggestions of where I could start searching for either my cousin or her descendants. The big problem is that my information is very hazy as I cannot be 100% certain of the forename of the cousin or whereabouts in Australia she may have lived. Alternatively, if she happens to live next door to you then perhaps you will kindly ask her to get in touch. Kind regards, Mel Bailey, Hertfordshire, England ==== AUS-MELBOURNE Mailing List ==== [email protected]
Hi List, I am trying to trace the children of Malcolm (Drummond?) MORRISON (b, c 1910-18 & d, before 1974) brother of John (AKA Jack) Drummond MORRISON (b, 1919 d, 1974 Adelaide SA) Malcolm was married to Gladys ? and they lived in Adelaide SA. there children are: Jillian Margaret Natalie It is highly likley that the girls all married. so their married names are not known. Malcolms brother JOHN was connected to the St Johns Ambulance.& he lived in Regent St Kensington until his death. Malcolm & Johns parents were John Nelson MORRISON & Caroline DRUMMOND. The families seem to have stayed around the Norwood, Kensington areas. Can anyone help, Do you know any of these people? Please if you think you might have a connection or know someone who does email me. I am related to the Morrisons from Caroline Drummond. Thanks All Sharyn Adelaide.

I'm looking for a Murray Gordon Brown who would have been born about 1915 and was in the RAAF in WW2. I have recently got the family photos and among the ones that my father had taken during WW2. There are a number of Murray Brown and I have vague memories of him as a small child when living on the Blue Mountains N.S.W.. I would like to get in touch with him or his family if possible. Di Reid
