    1. [AUS-WA-SURNAMES] List Closures
    2. Kim Milne
    3. In the event of the closure of our list I've created an AUS-WA-SURNAMES list on the groups.io platform & several listers have already signed up. To make it easiest to transfer over I intend to send an invitation to every existing AUS-WA-SURNAMES subscriber from the list to join https://groups.io/g/AUS-WA-SURNAMES The message will carry my name in the invitation......that's only because I'm List Admin. Those wishing to subscribe to the new list will need to click on the " accept the invitation" link in the message. Those of you who have already signed on will need to do nothing more & can just ignore the message altogether. Kim List Admin

    1. [AUS-WA-SURNAMES] Closure of Rootsweb Mailing Lists
    2. Kim Milne
    3. Rootsweb has sent the following:- Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state. Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb. However, as an alternative, I've created a list on the https://groups.io platform which operates in the same form as the present Rootsweb system. You can find it at https://groups.io/g/AUS-WA-SURNAMES and if you scroll down to the lower left you'll find the links to subscribe, unsubscribe, post messages etc. I should point out that Rootsweb lists will operate as normal until the 2nd of March, 2020.
