The Bible is leather-bound (about 20cm x 25cm), with a gold-coloured fastening and lock on the side. Last seen in the 1970s when it was entrusted to a family member who has since died. SAUNDERS who farmed at Arrino in the 1920s to confirm whether it was he who employed British Army ex-serviceman Abraham WALTERS after he arrived at Fremantle on the Orontes on March 26, 1921. Abraham WALTERS secured work as a farm labourer, sending money his mother each week. The contribution was acknowledged by his surviving sister who quotes from memory his address as "care of Mr A.G. SAUNDERS, Lynwood Farm, Bandi, Perth, WA". His daughter wants to visit WA next year and stand in his footsteps - but needs to determine where this was.
