    3. Hi Glen,That would be Bassendean....Rolf Harris was the 'boy from Bassendean'! He was much later of course. It is an older suburb about 10ks east of the City and on the same(north) side of the Swan River . It is also on the railway line. Subiaco is also an older suburb only a few ks west of the city also on the railway line (to Fremantle) and bounded on the other side by Kings Park and West Perth. Hay Street continues right down into Perth and East Perth. The Perth cemetry (Karrakatta) is on line.. www.mcb.wa.gov.au . All the best in your search. Denmark is down south as is Bunbury. Oh I know where Hahndorf is..I've been there..very pretty... cheers, Linda Sargent -----Original Message----- From: riskman <[email protected]> To: [email protected] <[email protected]> Date: Thursday, 21 August 2003 17:37 Subject: [AUS-WA] Fox Family members in the 1900-1960 >Hi List, > >I am hoping someone with the WA BDM details on disc and microfiche could do a look up for me - > >(1)James Fox a carpenter and his wife Marion left Port Augusta SA around 1895. By 1899 they were living in Subiaco with their son James and daughters Mabel and Marion. It is unknown if they had more children in WA.By 1908 the family was living at 42 Coughlan Rd, Subiaco. In 1911 it appears that James changed occupations to that of a bookseller and newsagent at 156 Hay Street, Subiaco. > >By 1913 James may have died as Mrs. M. Fox is listed as owner. Could someone please do a look up for James' death in this year.Marion appears to continue with the store until 1936, when she moves to 1327 Hay Street, Perth. In 1944 she appears to live at 61 Parker street, S. Bsndn (not sure what suburb this is so would appreciate advice) - by 1949 there is no mention of her - again would appreciate a look upfor her death in this year. > >(2)James (jnr) married Pearl Rossell on 29/3/1916 at the age of 22 then left for WW1.The pair had at least one child that - James Rossell Fox - I am not sure when he was born, but do know he went to WW2. > >In the electoral rolls James jnr may have become a bank manager by 1958 where he and Pearl lived in Randall Street, Denmark (again no idea where this is).By 1963 i think they were living at Australind in Bunbury - ?retired here then no record of either after 1965. > >(3) No idea of what happend to James Rossell - but have sent away for the war records. > >Would appreciate any advice or help listers could give, > >Kind regards Glenn in Hahndorf SA > > > > > > > > >==== AUS-WA Mailing List ==== > >Q: Why do WA's cyber-genies hang out at the Perth DPS & use DPS-CHAT-L ? >A: Check out: ' http://www.perthdps.com/dps-chat.htm ' > >============================== >To join Ancestry.com and access our 1.2 billion online genealogy records, go to: >http://www.ancestry.com/rd/redir.asp?targetid=571&sourceid=1237 >
