William arrived in Victoria from England with his family in the 1890s and settled in Footscray, but after his wife Hannah died in 1896 he moved to Northam, WA where he set up a bakery. He had two sons and three daughters including Mary Elizabeth from his first marriage, then Frederick Charles, Alfred Henry, Florence Ellen, and Annie Eliza. Frederick Charles married twice. Firstly to Eleanor HOTCHIN and their children were Charles, Lillian, and M.O. BATES. Children from the second marriage included M. Bertie, Mabela, Ivy, Maryrose, Myrtle, Dorothy, Frederick, Ernest, Allan, Edward, Ethel, and Lesley. Frederick Charles died in Northam in 1941. Does anyone know anything about George Robert CHILD who was born in Maryborough, Victoria in 1878? He possibly moved to Gippsland and then Kalgoorlie in the mid-1890s. George was the younger brother of Thomas, Sarah, Ellen, Alice, William, and Mary CHILD, and the youngest son of Thomas and Eliza CHILD. He is mentioned as a farmer in Busselton in 1905, and held land leases in Ongerup in 1910. George died in Mandurah in 1944. Contact: Mrs P.
