Leslie was born in Dubbo, NSW in 1884. He moved to WA around 1910 and was a headmaster at East Victoria Park School from 1939 to 1949 before retirement. Rose was a vocalist. Children included Rose Florence who was born in Perth in 1896 (m. SCHOFIELD), Doris Edith (married Ernest LEFROY in Perth in 1919), John William, Mabel Alice (married John WOODS, and died in Badgingarra in 1975), Edith Myrtle (TELFORD / NOONAN), Violet May (LETCHER), Henry James (d. COOPER : Henry James COOPER worked for the WA Government Railways from 1890 until at least 1912, at Toodyay and Merredin.
