It was a World War II troopship and brought out post-war "New Australians". Fremantle was a major port of call. EDWARDS served six months with hard labour in Perth Gaol from January 1877 for stealing from her employer, a Mr JAMES. On release Ann lived in Lord Street, Perth, and wrote to the governor accusing two warders of brutality. Many official records no longer exist. He got his ticket-of-leave on February 28, 1854, and conditional pardon on April 12, 1856. A long search of records in England or WA has not yielded any more.
