James and Minetta GIBBS (nee KEARNS) are names on our family tree and I am searching for more information about them. They were married in the South Island of New Zealand, probably at Lyell, in the 1880s Their children were: Minetta Annie GIBBS born 1886 George William GIBBS born 1887 Edward James GIBBS born 1889 Phoebe Jane Gibbs born 1890 Pearl GIBBS I don't know when they moved to Western Australia but it most likely would have been in the 1890s or even the very early 1900s. I found a marriage in WA for a Minetta A GIBBS in Perth in 1908 to a Henry MERCER and feel this was quite likely James and Minetta GIBBS daughter. I also found an entry for Phoebe GIBBS in a shipping list which would suggest that Phoebe must have visited England and arrived back in Perth in 1920. Her age was given as 29 and her occupation, nurse. Would love to know more about this family and would appreciation any information. Ethel Kearns, Melbourne
