Hello Kelly, Thank you for that information. I'm not sure whether that could be my man! Is it possible that he had travelled on the Oronsay from Western Australia, say from Freemantle, to Sydney? Death certificate just shows 24 years as total time in Australia - Western Australia and NSW. Were there any other Drews listed? Many thanks ance again. Hi Marjorie The database is not complete I know.. But there is no P Drew disembarking from Fremantle on it yet. I have been told that in the early years all passenger ships went via Fremantle as first port - but many continued onto Sydney and other places. You can have a look for yourself. It's the Australian National Archives passenger index. http://www.naa.gov.au/the_collection/recordsearch.html Click on Search now as a guest. Then click on Passenger List on the top left hand corner. The database is not yet complete (in the process of being completed as a work for the dole project).. but its certainly worth a look if you are searching for early passengers to Australia.
